I  met Jim and Dorothy when Mike and Nancy married.  You had many wonderful years together and you had a beautiful life.    My deepest condolences to his children and Dorothy upon his death.

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” An appropriate verse from Philippians 4:8, which I wrote down and sent to him for Father’s Day. 
So many memories. Here are just a few.
When I was seven years old, my father and I picked out a German Shepherd puppy. He asked me what we should name him. I immediately responded, “King”. Then there were Louie and Chiquita. Our Toy Poodle and Chihuahua. He loved our dogs, and I loved to watch him handle them with his hands.
He is the hardest working man that I have ever known. When he was promoted to Regional Sales Manager, he bought a Cessna 172. The call letters were 6377E. I shall never forget him on the airplane radio, identifying us repeatedly as “6377Echo” when we needed assistance from an airport tower.
From time to time, when he would fly out of town on business, and arranged for my mother bring my sister and I out into our front yard at just the right time, when he would fly over us and wave his wings to all of us.
On a couple of Summer vacations, the four of us would fly in the Cessna from Fort Lauderdale to the Manitoulin Island on Lake Manitou in Canada. My mother and sister would sit in the back and I sat next to my father. While we were in the air, he would let me fly the plane. Weather was always a concern. He taught me about the different types of clouds, which we avoided because of turbulence. At times we would see an opening, like an open hole in one of the immense cumulonimbus clouds, and we would try to shoot the gap through that opening the cumulonimbus, flying through the heavens, free of turbulence. 
Almighty God, as you guided us through the turbulence in the open sky, please take my beloved father through the heavens one last time to be with my Savior, now and forever.

I knew Jim loved chocolate cookies. I baked a batch and gave him some at one of VR functions. I loved the big smile he gave me! Of course Dorothy loved watching him happy. He was  such a sweet man! RIP Jim! 

I carry Jim in my heart. He will always be my fellow Irishman. I loved him and his love for all of us. I wish I could make his favorite chocolate chip cookies and send them to heaven. Till we meet again...
