Dave was born in Cumberland, MD on September 21st, 1960. He was the youngest of four siblings, two sisters and one brother. He grew up with his dad teaching him the skills to get him through his life as a man. He taught Dave the intricate mechanics of a car and the art of woodworking. Dave’s mom taught him how to be kind and considerate.
As he grew older, in his teen years, he loved to hunt and fish with his best buds. He spent many weekends camping out in the woods, sitting around a campfire, having a beer with his buddies, sharing stories and experiences with the friends and families that he grew up with.
Dave met Lee Willocks in 1988 through a mutual friend of theirs in Cumberland. He was never intimidated by the fact that she had two young children. Through the 36 years that Dave and Lee were together, Dave always treated the kids as if they were his own and nurtured relationships with them through their adulthood.
In 1992, Dave and Lee moved back to Lee’s hometown in Boca Raton, FL. Dave got a job as an IT Technician with Toshiba Business Solutions where he continued to work until his passing.
Dave’s biggest passion was his Harley Davidson. He loved riding with his friend and neighbor, Danny Josa. Another big hobby of Dave’s was photography. At any given time, you could find Dave outside of his house, at the lake, trying to capture the best sunsets or lightning shows. Dave was a man of many talents and earned the nickname “McGyver” around the neighborhood because the man had a gift and could fix almost anything that came his way.
His love of animals was extraordinary, and he was often referred to as “Dr. Doolittle” because, if Lee had let him, he would have taken in any creature, homeless, wounded or lost.
Dave was what many people would refer to as “a good man.” He loved Lee, his stepchildren, and grandchildren. He and Lee welcomed a great grandbaby one year ago. He had a generous soul and a calm, gentle nature. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors.
Dave is survived by his long-time partner, Lee Willocks, stepchildren Andrew (AJ) Willocks, Amanda Vance and her husband Josh Vance, grandchildren Zachary Willocks, Dylan Willocks, Caleb Vance, Sawyer Vance, Mason Vance and great granddaughter, Gabriella Willocks.
Left also to hold his memory are his Cumberland, MD family, sister, Debby Laurencio and her husband, Isagani, nieces Niki Haupt Lemmerman and family, Aileen Gregory and family, Sarah Laurencio, Rachel Laurencio, nephews Zachery Laurencio and his wife, his namesake nephew David “Seth” Laurencio along with nephews Pete Kuhn and family and James Burton IV.
Dave was predeceased in death by his parents, Dorsey and Neva Robinson, his brother, Donald Robinson, sister, Cheryl Burton, and nephew Tyler Robinson.
“May he find serenity in Your eternal care, free from pain or sorrow, and may he ride forever in Your light, embraced by Your grace.”
