She was born on January 3, 1945, in Daytona Beach, Florida to Herb and Diane Wieseneck. The family moved to San Francisco and then Seattle, where Joan graduated from Franklin High School in 1962 and the University of Washington in 1966.
Always an avid traveler, she was a flight attendant for Pan American Airways based in New York City. She founded Sara Mique, a high-end fashion line, which she owned until her passing. Family and friends often turned to her for expert fashion and travel advice.
She was predeceased in death by her husband, Nicholas (“Buddy”) Lamonica, parents, Diane and Herbert Wieseneck, and brother Jack Wieseneck. She is survived by her brother, Michael Wieseneck (Janice) and many other close relatives and friends who loved and cared for her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joan’s memory to Save the Children.
A committal service will be held on January 2, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am at the Boca Raton Mausoleum, located at 451 SW 4th Ave, Boca Raton, FL 33432, United States.
