I had the good fortune of meeting John many years ago as his dental hygienist. After his first appointment it felt like we had known each other forever. Both being from Maryland originally we had a connection and became quick friends. I looked forward to seeing him at his appointments and catching up on his family and his travel adventures. John had an infectious smile and he was always so positive and lived life to the fullest. 
I will miss you, John. Rest in peace ❤️

I am honored to have been John’s favorite waitress at one of his favorite restaurants and being able to provide him with the gummies he always loved to help him feel better. Every time he walked in, he lit up the whole dining room. He told me he felt like our souls have known each other before, and I couldn’t have agreed more. His love and positive happy spirit made you smile even if you were having a bad day. I will always cherish the last big hug we shared when I went to visit you.  I love your soul so much John. I had the pleasure of doing business with John in the early 90's and that led to him becoming my dental patient!  John was always a pleasure and my staff loved him as well. When he was around he always had such a wonderful and positive attitude about life. It was an honor to take care of him all these years. My staff and I are all thinking about John and his wonderful family.  He will be greatly missed.

Back in the Bellsouth days in the Deerfield Bch office, John and I would stay late doing paperwork.  Each in our cubicles, we couldn't see one another, but we entertained each with stories.  His laugh was infectious.  Wonderful man.  I tried to upload a music video as a tribute.  But it rejected it.  You can listen on YouTube "Ride across the river" Dire Straits.  John, ride across the river to the other side.  You earned it.  And in my opinion, it came too soon

Dear Jo Ann and Melissa -  I am so very sorry to hear of John’s passing. I remember him as a fun loving kid. Lynne and I were in Georgia on a racquetball tour and we met up with John. This was back in late 1980’s (?). John drove us around town in his convertible and I never laughed so hard! Lynne and I talked last night about our time spent with John on that trip. Good memories.

An unbreakable friendship that will last forever ❤️

John and I were classmates at Arlington Baptist High School and we graduated in the class of 1980. I remember his kind, outgoing personality and wonderful smile. I am praying for his family during this difficult time.

The day that John died I listened to a college valedictorian, Kyle Martin speak about working towards accomplishing his 15 minutes of fame. Forgoing relationships and life experiences just to get the honor of being valedictorian. After the initial joy and glee of leaning he had succeeded the moment after learning his achievement he felt nothing. He couldn’t believe it.To get what you want to be on the top of your game. Then he wisely realized there was a huge lesson to be learned. He could’ve been in his 50s or end of life but he understood after only a year. He spent most of his speech talking about the 16th minute and it just clicked. John had his 15 minutes years ago. Was great at what he did, was recognized for his talents achieved financial success and met his goals and had a loving family. 
But his 16th minute was interrupted with news of cancer and a life where he would not grow old. John being John faced this challenge head on so that his 16th minute was filled with friendships laughter travel and loves. His family loves and friendships were his rock of strength propelling him day to day. It’s the 16th minute that is the most special. When you laughed with John the whole world laughed with you. Friendships endured the test of time. When John cared about you and loved you, you knew it. He lit up a whole room. 
I will forever cherish my friendship with John and I know he’s already telling the Lord how to help us all who were left behind. And it’s hard when you’re left behind because there’s hopefully years until we are all at the pearly gates. 
Time you see is an earthly concept. When you pass there is no such thing as time…it does not exist. So I say John we will see you in but a moment. In a moment my friend of your 16th minute.

We are shocked and saddened to hear about John’s passing. He was a lovable little boy, never changing throughout his entire life. 

Our lives have crossed often through the years since 1960 in Myrtle Beach. We have so many wonderful memories of our times together to help us through the  difficult news of John’s death.

When I started working for BellSouth John was the very first person I met. He told me that day I was where I was meant to be and I would be very successful. He gave me my first big hug looking at me with those beautiful blue eyes!!   How did he know that?  It was his positive, beautiful personality that knew. From that day on he was not only a mentor he was my friend!  And what a friend he was!!  I will miss him calling me “darling” and all of our wonderful conversations!!  His infectious laugh, his sweetness and his caring personality will live on in all that knew him. RIP my wonderful friend and thank you for making me a better person. ❤️🙏😘

It’s hard to put into words the sadness I feel at the passing of my friend, John Tulock. I first met John and his husband on a Greek Isles cruise, and from the moment we connected, it felt like we had known each other forever. His warmth, kindness, and ever-present smile made him someone you just wanted to be around.

Over the past few years, we shared so many unforgettable adventures together—through the Caribbean, South America, and beyond—with our incredible “chosen family” of friends. John had a rare gift for making everyone feel seen and cared for, and the joy he brought into our lives will never be forgotten.

Sending love to his family, John and everyone who loved him. Rest easy, John—you made this world a brighter place 💙.

John, I feel so empty with loss.  You gave this dreaded Cancer one heck of a fight. The final battle was most difficult but you were tough as nails determined. 

Funny story, as you would expect one. Time on the boat. Right foot on dock, left foot on boat. "John, boat is moving ya gotta make a choice". 
"Splash" : )   Soaking wet, "where's my phone,?"  and laughing caused everyone to laugh. "pull me up"., well, that wasn't gonna happen so, "Just swim", "Ok, but where to, " I don't know just swim"Yep, that was John. Always creating laughter for all, many times at his own expense. Was just one of the funniest days of a list of countless thousands.  I encourage everyone to learn from your "Pay it Forward" actions.  You made a major difference in the world in a very positive way.   Now, while you are in Heaven talking with everyone, "Hi, I'm John.." we all need a favor yet again. Please help lift us.  We all experience loss. this one really hurts deep.

John was a dear man, a true kind and loving person.  Always the consummate person who lifted people up with his humor.  I worked with John at BellSouth in Atlanta and visited him numerous times at his home in Atlanta and Boca Raton when I returned to Pompano Beach after retiring.   The last time we spoke, we had made plans to have lunch soon. He will be dearly missed.  Rest in Peace in the arms of the angels my friend.  My sincere condolences to John's family.
