A beloved husband, Kim shared a deep and enduring bond with his wife (Kim Sexton), built on companionship, laughter, and mutual support. They were affectionally known as Kim². As a loving father to his three children (Michele, Steven, and Jimmy), he was an ever-guiding presence—steadfast, caring, and always ready with wisdom and endless encouragement. His role as a grandfather and great-grandfather (known to all as "Peepaw") brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent creating memories with the generations that followed him.
Raised on Key Biscayne by his mother, Jean, and father, Don, Kim was instilled with strong core values and ethics that he carried throughout his personal and professional life. He remained a loyal and caring brother to his siblings (Don, Rick, Randy, Jody, and Laurie), maintaining close ties with the family and offering support whenever needed.
Known as a friend to all, Kim had a remarkable ability to connect with people. His warm smile, generous spirit, and genuine interest in others made everyone feel welcomed and valued. Whether through quiet conversations or shared laughter, he left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Kim’s life was defined by love, integrity, and compassion. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched through his personal life and countless others he touched in his professional careers.
Kim gave forty years of public service to the South Florida community. Twenty years with the City of Miami Department of Fire Rescue and then twenty years with the City of Fort Lauderdale Police Department. The thousands and thousands of calls for service gave Kim the opportunity to touch countless lives when it mattered most. His professionalism, skills, tenacity, and love enabled him to be a light in the darkest and most traumatic moments for those he touched.
This great man is now at rest and absolutely in the arms of God, being rewarded for a life well done.
