Mary Moira C. Pershyn

Mary “Moira” C. Pershyn, 87, of Boca Raton, previously of Martinsville, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2014 at Hospice by the Sea. She was born October 1, 1926 in New Jersey to the late Leonard and Catherine Devlin.Moira married the love of her life, the late John Pershyn, on May 29, 1948. She raised her children while working alongside her husband at their numerous businesses, including Pershyn Construction, Canal Lumber and Middlesex Lumber. Moira and John traveled extensively. She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Raritan Valley Country Club in NJ and Pine Tree Golf Club in FL. Moira rejoiced in the Lord and was a faithful communicant at Saint Join of Arc RC Church in Boca Raton. She was active in her church including serving as a Eucharistic Minister. Moira is survived by a daughter, Barbara of New York; a son Brian and his wife Nancy of New Jersey; a brother Gerald of Arizona; five grandchildren: Blair, LaReina, Roderick, Steven and Nora; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, a brother and sister. Family and friends may call on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Babione Funeral Home (East Chapel) at 1100 North Federal Highway in Boca Raton. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014, at 9:30 AM at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton. Burial will be in New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation (www.michaeljfox.org). Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Babione Funeral Home in Florida and Bruce C Van Arsdale Funeral home in New Jersey.
