Thoughts About My Wife, Odessa
October 4, 1951 to February 17, 2024
Love of my life for over 52 Years.
Caring, loving, honest, sweet, compassionate, protective, modest, supportive, honorable, God loving, humble, fiercely loyal, supportive, gentle, generous, patient, funny, nurturer, understanding, a wife, a mother, a step mother, a grandmother, a mother-in-law, a friend. Just a few of her good qualities and roles.
Odessa was one of those few special people who had a way to make everyone she came in contact with to immediately drop their guard, open up to her and like her. She had that rare personality trait that drew people to her. She had a way with children that was comforting and reassuring. I never saw a child that wasn’t drawn to her. She spent her later working career as a teacher’s assistant at what was then the First Presbyterian preschool here in Boca and retired from there.
While she was wonderful with children she did not tolerate unkindness to her family or the defenseless, whether they were children or elderly people. She didn’t like rudeness, swearing or any other types of bad behavior. She made those around her better people. She wouldn’t watch violent or rated R movies if she could avoid them. Her favorite channel was Hallmark, especially the Christmas movies.
She was the best friend, wife and soulmate any man could ask for and my life is so much less without her, but heaven is so much richer for her being there. I will miss her until my dying day.
