Dear Carol and family,
So sorry to hear about your loss.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

We  first met Pat and Carol when I was  Kelly’s pre-k teacher  in Maryland.  Pat was the sort of person who made you feel like an old and welcome friend whenever you would see him and especially when stopping  by his “tiki bar” in Island Creek. To this day we do not pass by the former Murphy home by without thinking of you all. We heard about Pat’s  passing tonight and are saddened by the loss of a man who made the world a brighter place. Sending our heartfelt condolences from Maryland- Kelly and Chris Elliott. 

Pat Murphy, a man with so much love and vitality. I truly enjoyed being around you and Carol, and your many friends and family, always opening up your beautiful home to all. You even welcomed my little Shih Tsu Bailey on New Years Eve a few years back while he was recuperating from emergency surgery that evening!🐾
Pat, may you Rest In Peace in Heaven and I hope the many memories you’ve created will help ease the loss to Carol, Bryan and Jenna, Kelly and Dan and to your beautiful grandchildren.🙏💕

When we moved into our house on 13th place, Murph welcomed us so warmly.   He would always put a smile on our boys faces and ours as well.  His house was our favorite to visit on Halloween and our favorite to walk by on Christmas.   When we learned of Murph’s passing we were so sad because we know what a void there will be not only in our old neighborhood but also in everyone’s lives that knew and loved him, especially Carol.  Carol, you and your children are in our hearts.

We were lucky enough to become neighbors with Pat about 6 years ago.  He immediately welcomed us into the neighborhood in his usual  fashion of enthusiasm, humor and warmth.  You could not ask to meet a nicer guy or a better neighbor.  We will cherish our many garage happy hours and street conversations, and of course Halloween.  We will truly miss him and his friendliness, positive energy, upbeat personality and infectious laugh.
Our hearts go out to Carol and the family and we send love, hugs, strength and healing during this difficult time.  

I am sending prayers to Carol and family. God bless and be with you every day. I will not be able to come there for the viewing or funeral, but my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.  Know now that Pat can watch over all of you and have no pain. Love ya Faye VanDevender.

I never knew McShine, but Pat was a great friend of mine in Maryland. He was a caring and generous friend.  He was his happiest while on the water, whether the Island Runner or a 13 Whaler ( with a 60 hp). He even used my name suggestion for this bar(s). You will be missed!!

We simply knew him as Murf.  A great neighbor and friend. I called him the mayor of Boca Square.  Many a Friday night was spent at the Shipwreck Bar enjoying a few beers, good music and lots of laughs. The neighborhood will never be the same without him.  Rest In Peace. 

To:  Carol, Bryan, Jenna, Kelly and Dan:    It is with the deepest of sadness that I am writing this.   Pat was my loving brother, a loving husband, a loving father and grandfather.  Our hearts are broken that Pat is gone so soon.  Pop would always tell us when bad stuff happened  "Don't worry, the sun will come up tomorrow".   If Pop were here with me today, I would say "I know Pop, but without Pat, the sun will forever be a little less bright".   Love, Mike, Joanie, Ryan,  Michele and Chris.

I met Pat (we all called him "McShine") at the motorcycle shop.  We hung out together at the shop on some Saturdays, but I did not know him that well.  Then, one Saturday, I saw the McShine 2.0 Street Bob for sale in the shop. I saw it and casually remarked to the guys standing nearby, "Hey, that's a good looking bike for sale in the shop" and he said "That's my old bike and it's a good one", and he proceeded to tell me about all the special stuff he did to it and why it was a great bike. I test drove it that day, agreed it was a great bike, and bought it 2 days later. The bike, like him, is 1st class all the way.  I saw him a lot more Saturdays after that, and always enjoyed visiting with him at the shop.

I only knew him a few years, but he was a great guy who really loved to live life fully. He loved fishing in his boat, riding, or enjoying a drink in his backyard oasis.  Whenever I saw him, he was jovial and greeted me warmly.  I am going to miss him, and I think the world has lost a bit of color and class with him gone.

I am lucky to have met such a wonderful person. The first time I met you it was like I had known you for a long time. .. What a wonderful husband, father and grandfather to your family... You will be missed by everyone lucky enough to have known you but will never be forgotten...

My neighbor and  my friend. From the very first day I met him, you couldn't have asked for a better guy (and family) to move in. You could always hear his laugh come over the fence... man I'm gonna miss that.   There will always be a cold one here for you brother!

When we first met Pat we immediately liked him. He struck us as the type of guy you could hang out with, have a few beers, kick back, barbecue and share a few stories with. A loveable person who will surely be missed. Our deepest sympathies to the family.
