It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert L. Conroy, 76, of Boca Raton, FL on June 2, 2023. Bob fought prostate cancer over the past 2-1/2 years with every tool and treatment available. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife of 41 years, Dee (Howell) Conroy and his daughter, Tara (Conroy) Johnston. In addition, Bob is survived by his son-in-law, Peter Johnston and grandchildren, Cora Johnston (6) and Lilly Johnston (4) of Kensington, MD., Sierra Nemynarova-Dodd, Galyn Moore and Blais Conroy of Indianapolis, IN. Bob was also a great-grandfather to Michael. Also, surviving Bob are his sister, Thomasine Stoppert of Noblesville, IN and brother, William Conroy of Holiday, FL. His parents, Thomas Edward and Jean Lilly, proceeded him in death.
After graduating from Bethel Park, PA High School and Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as an aircraft technician during the Vietnam War. Bob spent his career in the Aviation Industry, retiring from Bombardier Aviation Services in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
To honor Bob’s memory, a celebration of his life will be on June 17th, 3:00pm at Babione Funeral Home. Burial will be at the South Florida Veterans National Cemetery on Monday, June 19th, 10:00am. If desired, donations may be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
