Roger Joseph WITTENBERNS, age 66, of Delray Beach, Florida passed away in his sleep on Sunday, March 20, 2022. He was born to Peter and Alda Wittenberns in Saint-Constant, Quebec, Canada on February 18, 1956.
Roger was a pioneer of the fitness club franchising model which revolutionized the industry to come. In 1984 he founded Lady of America Franchise Corporation, which had over 1300 locations in 9 countries worldwide. He served as its CEO and president, mentoring countless Franchisees until he retired in 2005. He moved to Delray Beach, FL where he enjoyed evening walks down A1A with his life partner, Patty McQuiggin, who he married on November 21, 2016, and his two Afghan Hounds, Titan and Thor.
He is survived by his loving wife Patty; mother Alda (Boca Raton, FL); two daughters, Brittany (Austin, TX) and Courtney (Pompano Beach, FL), and his two “sons” Titan and Thor. He is preceded in death by his father, Peter.
He will be remembered by those who loved him the most in every watercolor sunset, every sound of waves crashing down, every orchid that blooms, every Canadien’s hockey game, every memory we shared together.
