

Mr. Simpson was born in Athens, GA on January 1, 1930 and was son of the late Dewey Clifford Simpson, Sr. and Iona Thompson Simpson. He served in the US Army for 30 years and for 26 of those years he was a member of the Special Forces. He was a Mason, a member of the Aloha Temple in Hawaii, a member of the American Legion in Fayetteville, and a member of the VFW Post in Holden Beach. Mr. Simpson was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church in Supply.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Simpson and grandchildren of the home, Quinn and Abby Lashley; sons, Kenan Simpson and wife, Sabrina, of Washington DC, Kerem Simpson and wife, Carissa, of Fayetteville, NC; daughters, Perihan Warren and husband, Timothy, of Wilmington, NC, Deniz Dawson and husband, William, of Fayetteville, Anita McKnight and husband, Jimmy, of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jessica Beckner, Danielle Holtzworth (Daniel), Evelyn Cowley, Matthew McKnight, James McKnight, Lauren Dawson, Justin Riewestahl, Elias Simpson; 13 great-grandchildren; special caregivers, Sandra King and Heather Hairston.
Graveside funeral services with full military honors will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at eleven o’clock in the morning at the Ft. Bragg Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Hill officiating. A Memorial Service will follow at one o’clock in the afternoon at the JFK Chapel at Ft. Bragg.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from six o’clock to eight o’clock in the evening at White Funeral and Cremation Service, Bolivia/Supply Chapel.
