Edna Doris Chappell

Doris Proctor Chappell, age 90, of Supply, North Carolina passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 2, 1934 in Nash County, NC; a daughter of the late Elijah and Pearl Jones Proctor. A customer service clerk working in the grocery industry, until her retirement with Harris Teeter in High Point and Greensboro NC. A wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother and great grandmother by the grace of God, she enjoyed working and keeping her home clean and spotless at times, you could always find her working in her yard, keeping it clean. Mrs. Chappell was a lady that she knew how she wanted something done, and she was very matter of fact about telling you, her feelings about it also. Her spirit and legacy will always live in us as her family.

Survivors include her daughter; Sandra "Sandy" Rhodes and husband Lloyd; of Supply; two brothers Luke Proctor, Crisp NC; Jimmy Proctor of Pinetops, NC; sister Linda Howlett of Columbia, NC; 4 grandchildren

Anthony, Christopher, Ricky, and Carrie and a number of great-grandchildren; she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; Bobby and Archie Proctor.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Chappell will be 2:00 pm Friday, December 6, 2024 at the chapel of White Funeral & Cremation Service in Bolivia; burial will follow in the Silent Grove Cemetery, 1763 Holden Beach Rd SW, Supply, NC 28462.

The family of Mrs. Chappell will receive friends Friday from 1:00-1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
