Sissy was born in Wilmington, NC on the eighteenth of March 1948 to the late Marvin Herman Mintz, Sr., and Inez Penny Mintz. She was retired from France Textiles as a seamstress. Sissy was a longtime member of Peace Memorial Baptist Church and will be remembered for her love of family, friends and animals. She was a collector of dolls and enjoyed her extensive collection greatly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Martha Mintz, a nephew, Brian Mintz, and four aunts, Inez, Ethel, Margaret and Ilene.
Survivors include her loving husband Wilber Richards; step-sons, Scott Richards and wife Carol of Leland, NC, Eddie Richards and wife Sheila of Candler, NC, Clifford Richards of Kentucky; three brothers, Marvin H. Mintz, Jr., David P. Mintz and wife Betty, James R. Mintz and wife Cathy all of Leland, NC; numerous nieces and nephews as well as her canine companion “Binky”.
Funeral services will be eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday the ninth of July 2018 in Peace Memorial Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
