Iris Menta Smith, 76, passed peacefully Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Autumn Care of Shallotte. Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Danny and Elvie Gales. She is also preceded in death by har loving husband Vollie E. Smith, and two brothers; Franklin and Alton Gales. Iris is survived by her son; Randy Smith and wife Carolyn, her daughter; Tammy Tetreault, all of Shallotte, two brothers; Wayne and David Gales, three sisters; Edna Gray, Shirley Hewett, and Jackie Little, three grandchildren; Mark and Shaun Smith, Brandon Gore, and great grandchildren; Alex, Chase and Chaden Smith. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Iris will always be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 PM, Sunday, December 4, 2011, at Coble Ward-Smith Supply Chapel, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM, also in the chapel. Interment will be at Smith Family Cemetery, Ash, NC.
