From a fellow classmate,

Our history professor unexpectedly announced that one of our classmates, Aaron, had passed away. I was disheartened about such a piece of news. Aaron was always a bright and engaging student. His enthusiasm for history was unwavering, and his contributions in class were always appreciated. The classmates, professor, and I send our regards and condolences to the family and friends. Such a friend and classmate as Aaron will always be missed.

For Aaron and family, 

As his advisor, I had the privilege of getting to know Aaron not only as a student but as a driven and thoughtful individual. He shared with me his goal of becoming an officer in the military.

Doctor Yeh held space for you today in class to honor your memory. She mentioned how she messaged you on canvas to check on how you were doing on your class presentation- we were really looking forward to it.  The professor made a point to bring up your thoughtful weekly report comments and she sends her deepest condolences to your family.  Your presence in class is truly missed. Some of your classmates have put together some comments for you and your family:

I worked with Aaron at Burlington a little over a year now, where I had the honor of meeting him, working with him  and also  learning from him. My memory of Aaron will be his kindness,  mild mannered and understanding he always made his way to say hey or hello and ask how I was doing when on a  shift. I've spoken to my kids & family about everyone at work how i love being there and have  met some amazing people. Something that I often  shared was that  Aaron would always greet you in passing the friendliest "Hello" followed by a genuine "how are you doing/hows everything " and it made you stop and think, it was like he pulled the answer out of you like he really genuinely made you think pause and respond it wasn't just a question 
that was him "caring Aaron" checking in on each of us.  I can truly say everyone at Burlington misses him. He always wanted to be better & for everyone to do better and to be their best self.

Aarón was in my history class at SDSU. He often sat in front of me. We did not speak often but he would sometimes turn around and comment something about the Pokémon game I was playing on my phone and ask if I got any cool cards.  He contributed to our group’s study guide for our midterm and we overall did well.. I’m sure he would have gotten a good grade too. This is a great loss for our class because we will miss a very intelligent classmate and will miss his contribution to discussions. I am grateful to have shared an educational space with him. Thank you Aaron for learning with us.
