Alejandro Bibal Magno

Alejandro Bibal Magno was born on April 19th, 1934, in Malacapas, Dasol, Pangasinan. He is the fifth child of Maria Bibal and Pedro Magno and brother to nine siblings, Tomas, Delfin, Asting, Loring, Feliciana, Tinoy, Ito, Erning, and Ed. He married his wife, Helen Tangonan Magno, on January 11th, 1957, and later moved to Olongapo City, where they raised four children, Glyn, Nieto, Nelson, and Ruth. He worked as a waiter for the Officer’s Club in the U.S. Naval Base Subic Bay for over 20 years before moving to the United States in the mid-1980s. He worked for the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Department of the 32nd Street Naval Station in San Diego for nine years until he suffered from a mild stroke. Since then, he resided in his house in Paradise Hills with his wife, Helen, his youngest daughter, Ruth, and one of his granddaughters, Patricia, until his death.

Alejandro peacefully passed away in his sleep at 89 years old on Wednesday, May 17th, 2023, due to his battle with dementia. Before death, he enjoyed being with his wife and family at home. He was an active member of the South Bay Terraces Fil-Am Association and formed many friendships with other members. He loved dancing with members of the Fil-Am Association, being in the living room and watching basketball games and boxing matches with his family, and eating American diner food. Alejandro was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and his legacy will always be remembered.
