

Amparo C. Asuncion’s life journey began on October 30, 1921. She was single handedly raised by her mother in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, Philippines and also raised and in Tigaon, Camarines Sur. Her parents' were Mariano and Estefania Cobangbang. She has two brothers Pacifico and Felix Arucan.
Amparo attended and graduated from Magsingal Institute in Magsingal Ilocos Sur. She also attended Philippine Normal College in Manila, Philipines and graduated in 1943 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.
Falling in love is a huge milestone for any person. Just knowing that you have met that special someone is a magical feeling. Amparo experienced that with Avelino B. Asuncion and the couple exchanged wedding vows on December 11, 1943. The wedding took place also in the Cabugao, Philippines. Empathic and loyal, Amparo was committed to making her new family happy.
While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately this same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. Amparo was blessed with six sons Virgilio, Elmer, Danilo, Ruben, Hernani and Caesar and two daughters Maria Alicia and Evelyn. Amparo worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs, raising her children in a positive and nurturing environment. Later on, Amparo was blessed with the gift eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
How a person performs in the workplace can be a reflection on how they live their life. Fortunately, Amparo enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Amparo worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Amparo worked as a School Teacher, from before World War II until 1974.
A person's hobbies often mirror who they have become. In High School Amparo played volleyball as the “setter” and also played the “outfield position” in softball. Later in life, Amparo enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities, including doting on her grandchildren.
Amparo C. Asuncion left us on September 13, 2012. She passed away in San Diego, California. She is survived by her sons Virgilio, Danilo, Ruben, Elmer, Hernani, Caesar, her daughters Maria Alicia and Evelyn, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A Funeral Service was held at Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Amparo C. Asuncion was laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
