

Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. Andres D. Mina was no exception. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Andres will be remembered as a very exceptional person. Andres’s life journey began on November 30, 1926. He first greeted the world in La Union, Philippines. His parents' names were Aurelio and Narcisa Mina. He was raised with 10 siblings, Guadencio, Laureana, Conrado, Paulino, Carmen, Miguel, Feliza, Gregorio, Rosario and Egmedio. Andres was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his family sharing many life experiences over the years. Falling in love is a huge milestone for any person. Just knowing that you have met that special someone is a magical feeling. Andres experienced that with Ricarda Cunanan and the couple exchanged wedding vows on July 17, 1948. The wedding took place in the Sto. Nino Church in Tondo, Manila. Empathic and loyal, Andres was committed to making his new family happy. While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately this same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. Andres was blessed with 9 children, Alfredo, Nelson, Aida, Danilo, Marina, Josie, Mila, Ruben and Edita. Andres worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs, raising his children in a positive and nurturing environment. Later on, Andres was blessed with the gift of 26 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchild/grandchildren.
How a person performs in the workplace can be a reflection on how they live their life. Fortunately, Andres enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Andres worked diligently and did his best to succeed in each of his occupations which included custodial maintenance for 6 years.A person's hobbies often mirror who they have become. Andres enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities, including fishing and gardening. He was usually willing to share his interests with others. Andres D. Mina left us on October 14, 2011. He passed away in Chula Vista. He was 84 years old. The cause of death was due to natural causes. He is survived by his wife Ricarda, his sons Alfredo, Nelson and Ruben, his daughters Aida, Marina, Josie, Mila and Edita. Services were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A funeral service was held at The Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel in Bonita on October, 22, 2011. Simply stated, Andres was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Andres leaves behind him a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life Andres touched will always remember him with a smile.
