Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. Barbara Faye Krueger was no exception. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Barbara will always be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Barbara’s life journey began on February 27, 1932 in Pensacola, Florida. Her parents’ names were Lyman M. Nellums and Minerva Rebecca Jones. She was raised with 7 siblings, Bernice Nellums, Lyman Norborne Nellums, Marion Patterson, Kenneth Nellums, Minerva Joyce Black, Janice Wilde Wells and Robert Nellums.
Barbara graduated from Pensacola High School in 1950. She later continued her education by attending 1 year at Birmingham Southern University.
Falling in love is a huge milestone for any person. Just knowing that you have met that special someone is a magical feeling. Barbara experienced that with Richard Gordon Krueger and the couple exchanged wedding vows on June 8, 1957 at Gadsten Street Methodist Church in Pensacola, Florida. Empathic and loyal, Barbara was committed to making her family happy.
While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately this same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. Barbara was blessed with 2 children, Vicki Louise Lockey and Richard Gordon Krueger Jr. She worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs, raising her children in a positive and nurturing environment. Later in life, Barbara was blessed with the gift of 6 grandchildren.
How a person performs in the workplace can be a reflection on how they live their life. Fortunately, Barbara enjoyed what she did for a living. Barbara also attended Beauty College and joined her sister’s Beauty Salon in Pensacola Florida. Once her children went off to College, she returned back to being the Principal’s Secretary at Granger Middle School in National City for 15 years.
Barbara enjoyed her leisure time by being an avid golfer. Barbara also enjoyed sewing, reading, camping and traveling with family and friends.
Barbara left us on December 15, 2011. She passed away San Diego Hospice, in San Diego, California of natural causes. She is survived by her husband, Richard G. Krueger, daughter Vicki Lockey and son Richard Krueger Jr., and her brother, Robert Nellums. Barbara also leaves behind her 6 grandchildren: Candis, Chad, Casey, Brian, Ariel and Briona. Barbara was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was a vital part of their lives.
