Belen Daugherty

July 5, 1934 – June 3, 2025

Belen O. Daugherty, 90, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, in her home in San Diego, California, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Cavite City, Philippines, on July 5, 1934, Belen immigrated to the United States in 1958 shortly after marrying her beloved husband, Albert R. Daugherty, a U.S. Navy serviceman. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and hard work.

In 1973, Belen and Albert founded Al’s Pool Maintenance and Repair, a business they ran side by side for over four decades. Belen's dedication to her work was matched only by her devotion to her family. A nurturing and constant presence, she helped raise and care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always putting family first.

Belen was preceded in death by her husband Albert R. Daugherty; her daughters Mary Anne Daugherty and Renee Cossio; her birth mother Eliza Ordonez; her parents Francisco Marnal San Agustin and Asuncion Esteybar San Agustin; her siblings Pacita R. San Agustin De Guzman, Tito R. San Agustin, Eligio R. San Agustin, Antonio R. San Agustin, Manuel R. San Agustin, Ovidia R. San Agustin Abutin, Jaime R. San Augustin, and Agustin R. San Agustin.

She is survived by her sons and their spouses, Ernie and Marie Daugherty and Albert R. Daugherty Jr. and Cheryl G. Daugherty; her grandchildren, Corissa F. Daugherty-Edwards, Krisha F. Alvarado, Annette Mendoza, and Rick E.J. Daugherty; her great-grandchildren, John Joseph F. Daugherty, Andrew Phillip F. Daugherty, Patryk Janusz Pich, Taylee Saveen F. Madrigal, Grace Angelina Nelson, Aiden Earnest Pich, and Michael Gilbert Mendoza; her great-great-grandchild, Valor F. Madrigal-Gonzalez; and her siblings Rita R. San Agustin Fajardo, Salvador R. San Agustin, Rolando R. San Agustin, Jose R. San Agustin, Felisa R. San Agustin Quion, and Renato R. San Agustin.

Her legacy of resiliency, strength, and selfless love lives on in the many lives she touched.

A visitation for Belen will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. A committal service will occur Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Dr, San Diego, CA 92122.
