Billy Ike Gentry

Billy was born on June 6, 1928 in Antoine, AR. Following his father’s passing when he was 12, Billy quit school to support the family. A brief stint in the US Navy brought Billy to the west coast where he met and married the love of his life, Anita June Wade on May 20, 1950.

A real estate developer by trade, Billy not only built homes for a living, but with Anita by his side, built a beautiful life and family in Southern California and Oregon. Always in pursuit of the warmest place and biggest fish, Billy loved spending time in Mexico.

Billy made friends wherever he went and loved his family fiercely. His boisterous laugh filled the room as he doted on and spoiled his great-grandkids. He could not wait to welcome the arrival of the newest addition to the family, Thomas Jackson, in the new year.

Billy was predeceased by his brothers Robert Wayne (1973), Lee Atkins (1990), William Howard (2007) and wife, Anita June (2009). He is survived by two sons, Tom (Ginger) of Hillsboro, OR and David (Linda) of Portland, OR; three grandchildren LeAnn (Scott), Sam (Ciria) and Marci (Cody); four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Benjamin, Bailey and Harper; and his wife, Rosa.

A private memorial service will be held in Oregon when COVID guidelines allow.
