Carlito San Jose Bantug was born on December 12, 1952, in Orion, Bataan, Philippines and passed away on April 21, 2026, in San Diego, California at the age of 73. He lived a life rooted in service, strength, and a deep love for his family.
He proudly served 23 years in the United States Navy, carrying himself with honor, discipline, and dedication. After retiring from active duty, he continued to support the Navy as a contracted sheet metal worker, where his craftsmanship and strong work ethic remained evident.
Carlito found joy in the simple things. He loved gardening, creating and repairing things with care, and sharing laughs over mahjong. He also enjoyed watching YouTube vlogs, often with quiet contentment. To those around him, he was dependable and generous.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Editha Navarro Bantug; his daughters, Grace Bantug and Yvette Bantug; Yvette’s husband, Mark Lagrisola; and his cherished “grandbunnies,” Kinako and Kuma. He will be deeply missed for his humor, his sharp yet loving sarcasm, and the steady presence that made his family feel safe and cared for.
To his family, he was a protector, a devoted husband and father, and a man who could fix almost anything—but more importantly, someone who filled their lives with love and laughter. His memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.
