

Carmen passed away peacefully on Monday (August 27, 2018) at UCSD Jacobs Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Sorsogon, Philippines to Melanio Lorenzo Sr. and Teresa Fajardo. Completed a BS in Accounting from Manuel L Quezon University in Manila, Philippines, and subsequently earned a CPA license. She worked in numerous and challenging accounting positions in insurance, construction, electronic and office machines rental companies. Hard work, perseverance and a relentless pursuit of a professional career paved the way for her immigration to Hawaii in 1971 where she met her “angel”. The next 20 years she became a grounding force that supported a busy and active Navy life style. Always selfless and compassionate, she never hesitated to put her family first.
She will be forever remembered by her husband and travel soul-mate, Angel, of 46 years, 3 children Arnel, Jeanne and Jason, 4 grandchildren Nia, Alan, Sydney Mae and Elijah, daughter-in-law Ninette and son-in-law Reggie. Carmen had lifelong ties to Stockton and San Jose where she created beautiful and happy memories with her family and friends for over 35 years. She will be fondly remembered by her mother-in- law Mendy Aguinaldo and 7 loving sisters-in-law, surviving sisters Lourdes Carriedo, Corazon San Agustin, Aurora Fernandez and Gloria Ongmanchi, half sisters and brothers, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Our “Lola”, as she liked to be called by her grandchildren, was an amazing woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished.
On her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, watching Filipino and Korean drama, and spending quality time with family and friends. She had a keen sense of humor that could turn any dull moment into laughter of joy. She had a passion for travel and cherished exploring the exquisite beauties and cultures around the world.
