Charles is survived by his wife, Yasuko; three daughters, Norma, Wanda, and Cherie; nine granddaughters, four great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter, and two sisters, Eunice Gray and Phyllis Snapp.
Charles is a U.S. Navy retiree and a Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He also worked for the shipyards Triple A and Southwest Marine and finally retired again with the Chula Vista Elementary School District.
Charles was a private man. A hard working man. A man of few words. An honest man. He was a simple man who liked the simple things in life: his family, a clean honest living, for people to do the right thing, and story telling.
