

Crisanto Benito Mangaliag was born on March 30, 1945 in Calasiao, Pangasinan, Philippines to Domingo and Celestina Mangaliag. On January 20, 2016, he passed away in a motor vehicle accident. He was 70 years old.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle; Crisanto was known to be a great family man. He is survived by his spouse of 39 years Flordeliz; son Michael Mangaliag and wife Kelly; daughter Chrizil Bandala and husband Mark; and beloved grandsons Ivan Mortero (14), Kaden Mangaliag (7), Evan Bandala (4), Maxwell Bandala (2), and Oliver Bandala (3 months). He is also survived by 10 living siblings.
Crisanto enlisted in the United States Navy in 1968 and served in the Vietnam War. He proudly served the Navy until his retirement in 1988. After his retirement from the Navy, Crisanto worked at the Navy Exchange in building maintenance. He once again retired in 2007 and proudly became a full time babysitter to his grandchildren.
Crisanto was a founding member of the Calasiao Association of San Diego County and an active member of the McBuddies, a friendship group of Filipino retirees who gather each morning at their local McDonald's.
Crisanto loved to travel, eat, cook, and spend time with friends and family. He especially enjoyed being around his grandchildren. Loved by all whose lives he touched, Crisanto was known as a second dad to many, everyone's favorite uncle, and a friend to all.
