Ella era la esposa de Gumersindo Ramirez su pareja durante toda la vida quien falleció febrero de 2008. Ella será extrañada por muchos, pero su legado continuará vivo dentro de nosotros.

Habiendo nacido en la década de 1920’s ella vivió a través de muchas dificultades. De niña ella y sus padres huyendo de Mexico de las secuelas de la Revolución Mexicana y persecución de los cristianos. Ella y sus padres se establecieron en Nuevo México donde tuvieron nuevos retos y experiencias mientras viviendo en un país nuevo. Sus experiencias le ayudaron ser una mujer fuerte y valiente que todos conocimos. Ella y sus padres eventualmente decidieron regresar a vivir en México, donde ella permaneció hasta que conoció a su esposo, Gumersindo Ramirez.

En la era de 1960 regreso a los Estados Unidos junto con su esposo y familia. Hicieron esto en búsqueda de un mejor futuro para su familia. Su aventura los llevo a una ciudad pequeña llamada Oxnard, CA donde vivieron por muchos años. Años después se reubicaron en San Diego y tuvieron un gran amor a la ciudad de Tijuana.

Cristina y Gumersindo, aunque estuvieron limitados económicamente, ellos siempre encontraron una manera de ofrecer apoyo a sus hijos. Su deseo más grande fue que sus hijos tuvieran una vida prospera. Ellos apoyaron y animaron a sus hijos a seguir sus sueños. Hicieron sacrificios para ayudar a sus hijos a cumplir sus metas. Cuando la familia empezó a crecer ellos extendieron el mismo amor y apoyo a todos.

Como familia, muchos de nosotros tenemos tanto que agradecerle por nuestros éxitos, logros y felicidad. Ella nos dio apoyó en la mejor manera que le fue posible. Ella representa el espíritu del amor incondicional en la familia. Siempre abriendo sus puertas a quien lo necesitaba. Durante toda su vida ella fue una mujer de inmensa fe en Dios. Ella era muy conocida en su iglesia y comunidad por todas sus contribución y compromisos. Su fe fuerte en Dios, ayudo a sembrar una semilla en todos nosotros para siempre seguir y confiar en Dios.

Ella fue bendecida con muchos años de vida, que nos dio la oportunidad de compartir hermosas experiencias con ella. Su amor siempre nos motivó a estar unidos. Ahora que no está con nosotros recuérdala cada vez que escuches el canto de los pájaros. Recuérdala en cada flor roja, el color favorito de lápiz labial. Pero más que nada recuérdala, en lo profundo de tu corazón cada vez que hagas oración.

Ella disfruto de sus últimos años mirando nuestra familia crecer. Ella pasaba su tiempo disfrutando de la luz del sol en el jardín mientras tomaba su bebida preferida, Cafecito Helado. Ella disfrutaba mirar a sus nietos, bisnietos, tataranietos jugar en nuestras reuniones familiares. Ella murió con paz y consolada a un lado de su hija, Yolanda Velasco. En paz descanse

Cristina Ramirez, our dear matriarch passed away on May 27th 2019 at the age of 100 years. She was the wife of Gumersindo Ramirez, her lifelong partner, who departed February of 2008. She will be missed dearly but her legacy will live on in all of us.

Having been born in the 1920’s she lived through challenging years and hardships. As a child, she fled Mexico with her parents following the aftermath of the Mexican revolution and persecution of the Catholic religion. They settled in New Mexico where they also experienced additional challenges and hardships while living in a new country. These life experiences taught her to be a resilient and strong woman. Cristina and her family eventually decided to return to Mexico where she remained until she met Gumersindo Ramirez. Later in the 1960’s together with her husband, they decided to seek a better future for themselves and their family. Their venture landed them in the small town of Oxnard, CA. Where they settled for many years.

As parents, although they were financially limited they always found a way to offer support to their children. Her biggest desires were to see her children live prospers life’s. She encouraged and supported her children to pursue their dreams and made many sacrifices to help them achieve their dreams. As the family grew, she also extended the same love, encouragement and support to others. As a family, many of us have her to thank for making some of our dreams and goals a reality. She provided support in any way she could, including always having an open door to those in need.

Cristina represents the true spirit of unconditional love. During her lifetime, she was a woman of strong faith. She was well known in her church and community for her generous contributions and commitments. Her strong faith in God helped plant a seed in all of us to always trust and seek in God.

Her life was long lived and we were blessed to have her in our life for so many wonderful memories with her. Her endless love always drew us back to her and now that she is no longer with us remember her in joyful moments. Remember her when you hear the chirping of birds. Remember her elegant red lipstick in every red flower you see. But, most of all remember her in the warmth of your heart during a heartfelt prayer.

She enjoyed the last few years of her life watching her family grow. She spent time sunbathing in her garden, sipping on her favorite drink ( Cafecito Helado) and watching her great and great-great grandchildren play during family gatherings. She departed comforted and peacefully alongside her daughter, Yolanda Velasco.
