

After a long battle with cancer and other health complications, Donna Chase, 72, passed peacefully in the early morning of November 20th, 2024. She was surrounded by her family at home in Chula Vista, California.
Donna was born in Chula Vista, California on August 14th, 1952 to Betty and Donald Chase. She was the youngest of their three children. Donna attended Bonita Vista High School and earned a degree at San Diego State University. After graduating college, she began her career as an elementary school teacher, teaching for 32 years and eventually retiring at the age of 55. Even after she retired, she would continue teaching. As a retired grandmother she took up helping her grandkids academically by assisting with homework, projects, and proofreading numerous essays. In her free time, she enjoyed listening and dancing to music, reading, coloring, and collecting inspirational phrases to share with everyone.
Up until her last days, she continued to be a beacon of positivity and happiness to all who had the pleasure of being around her.
Donna is survived by her two daughters and their spouses; Elexa and Hanna, and sons-in-law Gilbert Meza and Nick Thadani, her five grandchildren, Tony Meza, Sara Meza, Isaac Meza, Jet Thadani, and Soren Thadani. She is also survived by her sister Diane Hatton and brother Jock Chase. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Isabel Meza.
