

Mrs. Dorothy Ferris was born on November 30th, 1921 to George Noel and Bertha Moore Briscoe in New York City, New York. She was raised in Bronx, New York with three brothers named Donald Briscoe, Fredie Briscoe and Patrick Lawton. Dorothy attended and later graduated from Morris High School in 1939.
As a young woman, Dorothy met and fell in love with her sweetheart Theodore Ferris. The two happily exchanged wedding vows on September 27th, 1939. The ceremony took place in Bronx, New York at 999 Union Avenue. With empathetic and loyal hearts, the two shared many loving years of marriage.
Dorothy and Theodore were blessed with three children. They had two sons named Lynwood Noel and Micheal Glenn and one daughter named Antoinette Deborah. Dorothy worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs.She worked hard toward raising her children in a positive and nurturing environment.
Later in life, Dorothy was blessed with the joy of four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren named Jeannette, Joe, Cherie, Matthew, Noah, Genevieve, Addison, Avery, Olivia, Habtamu and Hannah.
Fortunately, Dorothy enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Dorothy worked diligently and did her best to succeed in each of her occupations. While living in New York, Dorothy worked for various companies. She served as a counselor for the YMCA for a total of six years. She was also employed for four years in accounting for the Dinners Club and later became a secretary for a lawyer with whom she was employed for five years.
Like all people, Dorothy had her favorite things in life. When she was a young woman, she took pleasure in reading paper back love stories. She enjoyed horseback riding at Pelham Bay in the Bronx. She also had fun building up her collection of costume jewelry. Ultimately, Dorothy's favorite times were spent with her family. They always looked forward to playing card games together.
Mrs. Dorothy Ferris left us on May 16th, 2011. She passed away at Eldorado Care Center in El Cajon, California due to Alzheimer's disease. She is survived by her loving husband Theodore Ferris; son Lynwood Ferris; daughter Antoinette Ferris; grandchildren Jeannette, Joe and wife Lynsey, Cherie and husband John, and Matthew; her great grandchildren Noah, Genevieve, Addison, Avery, Olivia, Habtamu and Hannah. A Funeral Service was held on June 4th, 2011 at The Little Chapel of the Roses of Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
