Gloria Alfonso Smiley

She was born to parents Jose Pete Alfonso and Anita Quitco Alfonso on March 28,1948 in Manila, Philippines. Gloria graduated from St. Theresa's College, Manila High School in 1967. Gloria's early career was a medical representative with Warner Chilcott and a flight stewardess for Philippine Airlines, which she retired from to dedicate herself as a Navy wife.

Gloria married Winferd A. Smiley on May 31,1975. Gloria is survived by her husband Winferd (Mike) A. Smiley; daughter, Sarah Jane; son, Robert Joseph (Bobby); daughter-in-law, Darlene Marie; son, Brian James; stepdaughter, Sherry; granddaughter, Winter Marie (Wiwi); granddaughter, Ysabella Marie (Yssy); granddaughter, Sophia Marie (Doshi); step-granddaughter, Zoe; and step-grandson, River.

Gloria's whole world was her family, especially her grandchildren. Her pet name for her grandchildren were chicka-dings. Gloria had the biggest heart and instantly treated you like family. She was always the life of the party and loved to make her family and friends laugh.

Her motto in life: "Life is what you make of it. 20% could be due to circumstances beyond your control and 80% is your choice whether to do good or to be bad in whatever you do. Other than this, live by the golden rule. It will always make you a better person."

A funeral service for Gloria will be held Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The Little Chapel of the Roses, 3838 Bonita rd, Bonita, CA 91902. A cremation will occur.
