Lupita…I have so many great memories of you during our middle school and high school years. We were in drill team together and had good times. I remember how beautiful you looked on your quinceañera and how much I enjoyed being a part of your day. I remember you were so intelligent, beautiful and compassionate.
I am saddened to hear of your passing and give my condolences to your family. Rest in peace my dear friend.

hi I'm Nathalia i now high schooler that used to go to Nestor i am a freshman and I'd like to thank her for everything she's done for the school i now that I've never  talked to her but i would like to thank her for everything this school has raised me be a better version i could be thank you

Mrs. Avilez  was a big part in my life , she was so caring  and love able and loved all her student. She was the best person anyone could could ask for . She was the best , friend , mom , teacher , and she had a talent for all of them .And  we all miss her especially me I felt so sad when I found out. I’m pretty sure she has took an impact on everyone’s life . She was such a good person inside and out. And I admired her so much to the point were I wanted to look like her so I started to come my hair like her in kinder. She will hold a place in our hearts forever.❤️❤️❤️

I have known Mrs. Avilez since I joined Nestor in Kindergarten. I recently graduated 6th grade from Nestor. Mrs. Avilez was a very kind person, she made us students laugh at our award assemblies and I’m sure each and everyone of our hearts was broken at the notice of her loss. I’m not going to lie, I cried myself to sleep the night my mom told me she had passed. Even though I may have only known her for 7 years and I guess we talked like twice in between those 7 years. She always had a special place in my heart, I like to think that she’s watching over me from heaven even if she didn’t know me well. Shining down her wisdom from above, I’m now a 7th grader, at a new school, but her memory as the principal at Nestor to me will never be forgotten.

The very first time I meet Rene wife Lupe was when he invaded me over to there lovely home. I think it was for a BBQ, she was so down to earth and very caring to everyone. There was one time that I had car problem and both Lupe and Rene came to help me out.. They made sure that my mom and I made it home safe. I will never forget  that, it show me there true character they will help out there fellowman regardless. I may not have know her for a long time but she touched everyone's heart in so many ways. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.  

Ms Lupita touched us all in her special way, I'm glad I was there when she passed my way. 

I'm still in shock after finding  out about Mrs Avilez's passing..I met her when my daughter attended Nestor.she was such a sweet.kind.and understanding person it's still hard to accept the fact that she's gone..I will be forever grateful to her for accepting my daughter going there especially after the traumatizing situation ...she was always smiling and my daughter loved that she was always so welcoming...she Will be missed so much by so many people..Thank u so much Mrs Avilez for everything u did..May your beautiful soul rest in peace..my condolences to her family,friend's and co workers...

I wake up and my parents give me these bad news that Mrs. Avilez had passed away and I was so shocked, like so bad. I took it kind of hard because not only did I meet her, I got to spend time with her and she was  like the sweetest person you can ever meet. She was my principal in elementary school too and she was an amazing principal, always doing a good job. I just can't believe that she died, I feel so sad in these moments, like I'm crying as I'm writing this 😢 I will miss her a lot and it is going to be so weird going back there and not seeing her there. At least now she rests in peace, may god be with her 🙏💔😭

Dearest Sister-in-Law Lupita,  you will be sadly missed by all who had the most pleasure meeting you.    You did everything you could for your kids.  Your strength and your love for making your kids happy and always thinking of others made you a very special angel walking among us.   I still remember each and every birthday you made for your kids which you did with the most thought and detail.  The tea party was one of my favorites for Victoria.  Wow!  Your mom, dad and you did an amazing job!  But I guess now, God needed you to put those qualities up in heaven to help us all on Earth.    I'm sure right now you are hugging your dad and together walking hand in hand.  We wish the family a lot of strength during this hard time.   The memories are nothing but good ones and you leave such treasures as your kids.  I hope they realize what an amazing mom you really were and follow in your footsteps.  The family can count on us for whatever is needed.   God bless you all and sorry we could not accompany the family since we no longer live near.   But are hearts will always be near.

I met Lupita at Olivewood Elementary School and worked with her for several years sometime between 1995 and 2009. It was truly a pleasure to work with her since she had such a warm and friendly demeanor all the time! She was an awesome teacher and was very well liked by her students and parents. She was a very gifted teacher and just a great role model.  She once told me that her first passion was medicine but due to unforeseen life circumstances she was forced to give up that dream and instead pursued teaching. Her words resonated in my head and catapulted me to leave the teaching profession and pursue nursing. May you rest in peace Lupita and know that you were very loved at Olivewood Elementary. My deepest condolences to her children,  family, and friends. ❤️🙏🏼
