Dear Dad,

I know that you are in heaven now - a wonderful place with God, free of discomfort and the limitations of our earthly bodies as we grow old.   

When you were here, you were such a loving and selfless man, who always worked hard, provided for your family and thought of others first before yourself.  You had a warm, infectious smile that brought everyone joy.  You had a kindly and respectful manner that you shared with all.  And your love was boundless to your children, grandchildren and to Inay.  

I have many memories of you, in particular, all the time and energy you (and Inay) sacrificed to help Joann and I when Jenna was born.  It was a challenging time then, but all you did for us, I will never forget.  I look at my beautiful daughter now, at age 25, and think every day how you helped shape who she has become.  She was lucky to have your loving influence in her life - as we all were.

Your passing has left a big hole in our lives - but I am thankful I was blessed to have known you for the time I did.  So many people never got to even meet you, not even once.  

God bless you, Dad - and thank you for all the love you gave to me and my family.

Dear Mamay, 

I will always remember you as my loving, caring and kind grandfather. You were so sweet and always thought about others. You were also a fantastic cook and I looked forward to eating your yummy food. Your food brought our whole family together and I am grateful for that. 

I will never forget the countless trips you and Inay made to visit me in Los Angeles. We would go to the mall, the movies or just hang out at home. You always made sure I was fed. You even went all the way to Berkeley to support me at my undergraduate graduation ceremony. I am very thankful to have been able to spend a lot of time with you and will always cherish the memories that we made. 

Thank you for taking care of me and for being a wonderful grandfather to me and all of my cousins.  You will be missed but it brings me comfort to know that we will meet again someday. I love you Mamay. Rest in peace.

Dear Mamay, 

    I have been deeply missing and loving you!  I will always be thankful for your generosity and compassion that you have given me and our family.  

Thank you for the many delicious dinners you made during the holidays at Aunt Melinda’s house.  I always smile when I think about the times you used to buy me ice cream cones at the Navy Exchange as a little girl, or when I happily ran into you at the mall and you kindly insisted that you buy my snacks at the movies.  I am going to miss your witty sense of humor as you cracked the most hilarious jokes about my Dad!  

Thank you for being such a great grandfather to me and all of my cousins!  I love you Mamay!  I know we will see each other again in Heaven one day!

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Mr.Llanes. 
As Hope's cousin, I was welcomed into the Llanes family. 
I saw nothing but unconditional love between Mamay , his children and grandchildren. I am grateful to witness that. 

My Ninong Josè has the best sense of humor and I know that is from Mamay. It is comforting to know his characteristics will live on through his children. 

My heart goes out to Inay and the Llanes family at this time.

     Our hearts have been missing you since you were called HOME by our SAVIOR on 2/26/2020.  We were Blessed by our LORD to have such a loving and kind Dad, Father-in-Law & Grandpa.  Thank you for all the sacrifices you made for your family & country!  We are very proud of your Naval & U.S. Postal careers.  You were a true patriot!

     We will treasure all the memories and laughs we’ve had with you.  We will miss your witty sense of humor.  We are grateful for all the times you cooked for the family on holidays or special occasions.  Thank you for the delicious bbq steaks, ribs, roasts & turkey dinners! Thank you for LOVING your family!

     We believe in GOD’s promise that we will someday be reunited again in his Heavenly Kingdom!
