

Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. Josue Timbreza Bigornia was no exception. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Josue will be remembered as an exceptional person.
Josue’s life journey began on April 7, 1932. He first greeted the world in Bangued, Abra, Philippines. His parents' were Mariano Versola and Julia Quisto Timbreza Bigornia. He was raised with two sisters Viola and Velma and four brothers Jesus, Julio, Jose and Jeremiah.
Josue was a typical teenager who had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He attended University of the East, in Manila, Philippines, there he was a third year student in College of Law.
Falling in love is a huge milestone for any person. Just knowing that you have met that special someone is a magical feeling. Josue experienced that with Anita Caluza Estigoy and the couple exchanged wedding vows on June 18, 1960. The wedding took place in the San Pedro apostle in Bauang, La Union, Philippines. Empathic and loyal, Josue was committed to making his new family happy.
While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately this same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. Josue was blessed with 3 children; Jon, Annette and Joey. Josue worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs, raising his children in a positive and nurturing environment. Later on, Josue was blessed again with the gift 8 grandchildren.
How a person performs in the workplace can be a reflection on how they live their life. Fortunately, Josue enjoyed what he did for a living at a USN Hospital Corpsman Chief (E-7). Showing a strong work ethic, Josue worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. Josue received numerous awards while serving in the United States Navy such as Certificate of Special Instruction-Hospital Corpsman Second Class (12-15-1961), Appointed to Hospital Corpsman Second Class, Camp Pendleton, CA (11-16-1960), Department of the navy Good Conduct Award Fidelity Zeal Obedience-Hospital Corpsman First Class Third award (10-17-1963), Department of the Navy Good Conduct Award Fidelity Zeal Obedience-Hospital Corpsman First Class Fourth Award (10-17-1967), Honorable Discharge USN, (10-19-1964) Appointed to Hospital Corpsman First Class (11-16-1965), MCAS El Toro, Santa Ana, CA., Certificate of Appointment to Chief Hospital Corpsman (4-01-1972), Certificate of Appointment to Chief Petty Officer (4-01-1972), Navy Achievement Medal (with Combat “V”) for Meritorious Service from 28 December 1969 to 14 December 1970, 03-07-1971. Josue was employed as a Distribution Clerk for the United States Postal Service for 15 years.
A person's hobbies often mirror who they have become. Josue enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities, including gardening and fishing.
Josue Timbreza Bigornia left us on December 1, 2013. He passed away in San Diego, California. The cause of death was due to Alzheimer’s. He is survived by his list of wife Anita, sons Jon and Joey and his daughter Annette Bigornia-Turingan, his sisters Viola and Velma, his daughter-in-laws Paula and Elleen, son-in-law Donny, grandchildren: Joseph Bigornia(grandson), Alana-Sara Turingan (granddaughter), Anthony Bigornia (grandson), Matthew Bigornia (grandson), Ameihia-Sierra Turingan (granddaughter), Brandon Bigornia (grandson), Steven Mykal Bigornia (grandson), and Donny Skylar Turingan, III (grandson). Services were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Charles Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m., in San Diego, California on December 14, 2013. Josue will be was laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
So this is Josue’s life, the sum of the man that he became. Simply stated, Josue was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Josue leaves behind him a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life Josue Timbreza Bigornia touched will always remember him with a smile.
