

Leonardo Tomas Jose was born on January 30, 1930, to parents Hermogenes Jose and Leonila Tomas Jose. Their hometown was in Paranaque Rizal, Philippines. He was 2nd to the youngest and outlived all his 7 siblings – Amelia, Avelina, Teofisto, Abraham, Eulalia, Elizabeth, and Atonia. He is survived by his wife Gloria Bati Jose, his 4 children – Elsie, Eddie, Kay & Jay and 4 grandchildren Justin, Dylan, Brandon & Amia.
Leonardo aka Joe or Nardo to family and friends was in the United States Navy for 20+ years and rose through the ranks to Storekeeper Chief (SKC). After retirement he worked for the post office then a Civil Service position at Naval Air Station Miramar until he fully retired. Joe was known for being strict, meticulous, loved to tell stories about his life experiences, enjoyed watching football especially his favorite team The Chargers, had quite a sweet tooth for chocolate and made sure we celebrated our Birthdays and Holidays as a family. He was Papa to his grandchildren and took care of them and spoiled them growing up. He traveled and explored many countries with his wife Gloria and enjoyed collecting souvenirs from all the places they visited.
Joe cared deeply for his family and his presence will sincerely be missed. Memories of him will be in our hearts forever. May he rest in eternal peace.
