Dear Lucy, You are missed. My Mother, Joan Tyler Vilbrandt would speak of her "dear cousin Lucy" often. It was wonderful hearing from them both of the wonderful memories they shared growing up, Lucy on the farm in SunPrairie Wi, now a sprawling city. One of Joann's favorite trips was visiting Lucy and Harry in San Diego. I loved talking to Lucy what wonderful memories from such a remarkable loving & positive soul who shared so many heart felt blessings on our whole family.  Your faith in humanity was renewed when your day was touched by Lucy. She knew the blessings of plants & animals (cats and birds) and cared for them.  She was so happy with Harry and the dear neighbors and all the wonderful meals.  Peace.

We only knew Lucy for a short time but during that time we were able to experience her generosity, fun loving spirit and her zest for life.  She and Harry would often walk in our neighborhood and were always holding hands and friendly to those they encountered.  We will miss her.

Lucy was such a joyful addition to our neighborhood here in Bird Land. She always had a beautiful smile and a hello as we walked by her home or she strolled the neighborhood. Our thoughts and prayers are with her, her family and friends. God Bless.

I still haven't realized that Lucy has physically left me.  I've known Lucy for 20 years and often told her that she has been my Angel on earth; I believe she's now an Angel at higher places.  Never ran out of laughter around Lucy.  She was always there to offer life advice, hugs, and everything else anyone, including strangers, need or want.  The wonderful lady often reminded me that God put us on earth to serve a purpose, and when that's done, we have to leave; her spiritually shared beliefs help me deal with lots of losses in life.

Lucy, I have been truly blessed to have met you as a friend, and neighbor  your twinkle in your eye, smile, laughter, and being a wise ol fox always nurturing me every time we chatted. You hold a special place in my heart, say hello to my dad, until we meet again, Love ya back.

I only knew Lucy for a short time but she was such a loving and gracious hostess.  Met her when Cathe and I went to CA to see her Uncle Harry and Lucy.  What a delightful woman Lucy was.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lucille is a long time friend and she is a very caring person , even I move away from San Diego , she kept in touch me .  I remember once or twice she said , she believe when a person pass away , the spirit will still be around for ever. Lucille your spirit will still be around .

There's magic in a Lucy's touch, and sunshine in her smile. There's love in everything she does to make our lives worthwhile. We can find both hope and courage just by looking in her eyes. Her laughter is a source of joy, her works are warm and wise. There is a kindness and compassion to be found in her embrace and we see the light of heaven shining from a Lucy's face.  I will allays remember to smell the roses as you said.  Thank you for touching my heart the way you did.

Dearest Lucy- No message will ever capture your unconditional love, kindness, and caring.  You never met a person who wasn't a friend. You had no children yet you took care of thousands of us over the years as if we were you own. Everyday you brought sunshine to this world with your smile and thoughtfulness, always putting everyone else first, always sharing, always caring. You and I loved our animals and nature. This earth has lost an angel but heaven has gained one.  We know you will be watching over us.  Thank you Harry for taking such good care of each other.

I will miss your stories about the family farm in Wisconsin, early days at CalTrans and the driving trips with your parents and sister Lorraine.  Thank you for treating Steve and I like family as that was always the way we felt about you.  Thank you for all you did for my sweet Uncle Harry.  Our visits to San Diego will never be the same. I will always remember Lucy as one of the kindest and sweetest neighbors I've ever had. It was always a pleasure to see her walk past my house on her way to give some treats to a neighborhood cat she'd befriended, or to stop and chat as I walked past her house. She never failed to say "God Bless You, dear" every time we spoke. She loved all growing and blooming things and all small furry creatures, taking delight in the simple pleasures of the day. I'll miss you, Lucy.
