Michael Joseph Miekina

Michael Joseph Miekina, 48, passed away unexpectedly on April 5, 2025.

Mike was born on July 19, 1976 to Mary Kay and Tom Miekina. He was raised in Deerfield, IL and attended Holy Cross Catholic School and Loyola Academy. Mike went on to graduate from The University of Illinois and completed his Masters of Business Administration at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.

In 2009, Mike’s career in financial data and analytics led him to San Diego. It was there that he met his wife, Andrea.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Andrea (nee Navarro), son Joseph, his mother Mary Kay, brother Bill Miekina, sister Amy (Bryan) Meurer and brother Dan (Maggie) Miekina. Mike was a loving uncle to six nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his father Thomas C. Miekina.

Memorial services will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Bonita, CA on May 3, 2025 at 1:00PM with a celebration of life following the service at Glen Abbey Memorial Park & Mortuary. We hope to see Mike’s friends and family who can attend and help us remember Mike and the phenomenal man he was.

Mike was passionate about animal rescue.
