Peter Joseph Riedel

Peter “Pa” Joseph Riedel was born on November 24, 1947 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania to parents Carl and Josephine Riedel. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 18, 2022. Peter grew up in Ardmore, Pennsylvania to later serve in the United States Navy for 4 years as a Quartermaster. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Bridgeport in 1974 and in 1982, he found his forever home in San Diego, California. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mardi Riedel, his son, Jonathan Riedel, and his daughter Julie McWhorter. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Bailey Riedel, Ethan Riedel, Meagan McWhorter, Jake McWhorter, Hannah Riedel and Hayley Riedel.

Peter was an incredible provider for his family. He was a lover of all sports, especially San Diego State. He enjoyed golfing, going to sporting events, dining at his favorite restaurants and traveling. He will continue to be loved and deeply missed by everyone whose lives he touched and contributed to.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor at the family’s home in Chula Vista, California on September 17, 2022.
