

If anyone ever cared, really cared for someone else it would have to be Quirico Tolite Tabalanza. He was a warm hearted and well liked individual, and these wonderful traits came easily to him because he was such a sociable and amiable person, someone who was always making certain that those around him had whatever they needed.
Quirico was born on Nabua, Camarines Sur, Philippines. He was the son of Julieta Tolite and Longinos Tabalanza. Quirico was raised with 5 sisters, Felipa, Esther, Marcelina, Patricia, and Vachon. He spent his childhood on the family farm helping his father tending to the rice fields. During his childhood he was taught to be reliable and respectful. He found it easy to show empathy and to perform kind acts for others. These admirable qualities would become a part of Quirico's personality throughout his life.
On March 25, 1960 Quirico married the beautiful Leticia Habana Narvaez at the Priest of Penafrancia Shrine of Naga City. Compassionate and devoted, Quirico worked hard to ensure his bride was happy. They celebrated fifty-eight years of marriage this year.
Harmony and family was important to Quirico and he made every effort to maintain it with his family. Quirico was blessed with 4 children Karen, Janet, Joan, and Rex. More blessings came with 9 grandchildren, Alyssa, Krista, Matthew, Nicolas, Noah, Kayla, Sean, Malia, Kiana, and 2 great grandchildren Cody and Lana. He gained two sons in law - Gio, Bobby, and daughter in-law Caitlin.
Throughout his career, taking his work seriously came naturally to Quirico, and he expected the same from those around him. Quirico was a good team player, someone who was born to cooperate with others. He was what some would call a “people person” and it was demonstrated in his “can do” attitude actions and teamwork skills.
Blessed with a practical nature, Quirico was a person who appreciated the routine of the military and took his obligations seriously. He was stationed in Hawaii, Lemore, San Diego, Yokosuka, Atsugi Japan, and San Francisco. Quirico saw action in the Vietnam War. Through his hard work and dedication, he achieved the rank of Chief Navy Petty Officer Ships Serviceman. He was proud to be a veteran with 23 years of service.
His favorite pursuits were spending time with his family, dancing, playing his music and guitar and socializing with his many compadres and comadres. He enjoyed participating in many activities as an active member of the Bicol Club of San Diego County.
Everyone whose life he touched will miss Quirico Tolite Tabalanza. His family and friends remember him with love and fond memories.
