Raymond Jacob Espinoza passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Alpine, California at the age of 85 on Sunday, December 29, 2024. Ray was born in Montrose, Colorado on June 25, 1939 to Eloy Espinoza of Colorado and Mary Gallegos of New Mexico. He was the first of ten children (nine boys and one girl) and is survived by sister Frances (Johnny) and brothers Sam (Pat) and Marty and preceded in death by brothers Jesse, Johnny, Joseph, David, Anthony and Gary.
Raymond is also survived by his four children who will miss him dearly, Rochelle Espinoza (Susan), Shawn Espinoza (Jennifer), Tamara Espinoza and Daniel Espinoza (Christina) as well as his eight grandchildren, Ashley (Andres), Aubrea, Lily, Adrian, Aiyana, Dahlia, Aiden and Isley and two great grandchildren, Ezra and Everly.
Ray was an officer in the United States Air Force for two years and, after forty-four years as a dentist, he finally decided to retire. Ray enjoyed several hobbies over the years including woodworking, photography, plants and gardening and singing with the Alpine Chorale. While art and music brought him great joy, it was his love of dancing that was his true passion.
Although he was known for his sense of humor and quick wit, Ray was just as caring, compassionate and always ready to lend a helping hand. Being of service suited him and his nooners family welcomed him "home" with open hearts and minds.
Ray had found peace, contentment and love of life and he will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him.
Out of respect for Ray's wishes, there will be no services held.
