On the 9th day of December in 1958, Rene Lynn Bankston was welcomed into the world. Her parents Walter Ford Bankston Jr. and Freda Jane Bankston, could not have been happier with their beautiful bundle of joy. Rene joined her three older sisters Rhonda, Antoinette, and Cheryl. They were born and raised in Chula Vista and Rene graduated Hilltop High School in 1977, and enjoyed life a little before pursuing her AA degree in Computer Technology.
Rene was a big animal lover, especially dogs. From Fifi, Cammy, Ruby, Thuey and Kelly, all the dogs in her life have always played a major role.
Aunt NeNe (as she was fondly called) impacted everyone she ever met, especially her nieces and nephews and always made each and every one of them feel special and loved.
Rene was very generous to every person she ever met and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She was the best friend anyone could ever have which is apparent by all the great friends she had.
Rene excelled in every job she had from Grosvenor Inn, McMillan Company, and The Affinity Group at Costco. She was always at the top of her game until her disease of addiction took control and her life crumbled.
She prayed to GOD daily to help her fight this disease, but the disease was much stronger. Rene tried to hide all the pain in her life from family and friends. She never wanted to burden anyone with her deep pain. Rene’s disease took her from us on August 20, 2010, and our lives will forever be changed.
Everyone’s life who has been fortunate enough to have been touched by Rene will have a deep void that can never be filled, except for wonderful memories of all the good times we had with her.
Rene is now in heaven with dad Bud, Mom Freda, Grandma Bev, Nephew Jayden Patrick, and her friend Betty.
Next time you are at the beach and you feel a soft breeze on your face, it is Rene letting you know that she is with you in your heart forever.
