Reynaldo "Rey" S Castuli

Reynaldo “Rey” Castuli passed away unexpectedly on February 10th, 2024 at Coronado Beach. He was only 66 years old. He passed away while doing what he enjoyed the most, fishing.

Rey was born in the Philippines on November 22, 1957. He spent most of his life in Cavite City. He immigrated and settled in San Diego, California at the age of 39. He had worked at Nova Commercial Company, Inc for 22 years and eventually retired in 2019.

Rey had the biggest heart and the most helpful hands. He was selfless. He was always there for any family and friends who need help and support without hesitation. He was generous even when he didn’t have enough left for himself. He was never angry; always calm. He made us laugh with his funny jokes and stories. He was a great brother, a wonderful father, an awesome uncle, an incredible grand uncle, and a terrific friend. There aren’t enough words to truly describe how incredible of a person he was. One word that family and friends will think about when they think of him is “pakikisama,” or “pakikipagkapwa-tao,” or “camaraderie.” He got along with others well and he formed long lasting friendship. He will be deeply missed.

Rey is survived by his daughter Hanna and son-in-law Robbie, his sisters Derly, May, and Celia, his brothers Efren and Virgilio, his brother-in-law Buddy, his nephews and nieces, and his grandnephews and grandnieces.

Rey is preceded in death by Florentino Castuli (grandfather), Tomasa Hernandez (grandmother), Agapito Castuli (father), Rosalina Santos Castuli (mother), Mercedita Castuli Burgos (sister), Angelito Castuli (brother), Roberto Castuli (brother), Arturo Enriquez Sr (brother-in-law), Reynaldo Burgos Sr (brother-in-law), Noel Burgos (nephew), and Reynaldo Burgos Jr (nephew).

A visitation and memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16th, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary - Magnolia Room, 3838 Bonita Rd., Bonita, CA 91902.
