Rodolfo Antonio Morales was born on May 18,1945 to Baldomero and Consuelo Morales in Dibua, Laoag City where he grew up and attended his elementary and high school years. He pursued higher education & graduated college obtaining a degree in Accounting & Commerce at University of the East, Manila. After college, he was employed as a private accountant to the owner of Chua Corporation in Batac, Ilocos Norte. While employed, he was also active in his community by serving as a Barangay Secretary and Treasurer for many years.
A widower at age 42, he dedicated his life raising his four sons: Warren, Walter, Arwyn & Windard. With the help of his parents, Manong Rudy raised his children who were all in elementary school when their mother died. And, with the financial help of his only sister Charito, all four sons were able to finish college & obtained their degrees.
A few years after Glory (then Pamelar) was widowed, she went to the Philippines for vacation. Prior to her vacation, our cousin Carmela played cupid and showed her a picture of Manong Rudy and encouraged them to meet. I still vividly remember my sister’s phone call while on this trip saying “I met Rudy and I like him; he is a good man & very respectable”. No one could stop them from pursuing their love affair, and in January 1998, they got married. Shortly thereafter, my sister petitioned for him to come to the U.S. He arrived in May 9,1999, a date he cherished each year. He worked as a groundskeeper at Sycuan Casino for over 10 years, at which time he retired.
His desire was for his sons & their families to come to the US. While petitioning for them, he suffered several medical ailments, the first being his quadruple bypass surgery in 2006. By the grace of God and through many prayers, God extented his life after battling with medical challenges and joyfully celebrated his 80th birthday with many of us on May 18, 2025. Most of all, God honored the desire of his heart & granted all his sons to be here including the families of three of his four sons!
Surrounded by his loving family & Pastor March on May 31, he went peacefully to be with his Maker & Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God comforts us with His words in John 14:2a-3 that says, “2a In My Father’s house are many mansions… I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
Manong Rudy is survived by his wife Glory; his children Warren, Walter, Arwyn and Windard; his sister Charito Morales Dida-Agun; stepsons Andy & Randy along with four grandchildren: Faye, Winette, Rayne, and Redj, and step grand daughter Avery.
From the Morales Family we thank you for the love you have shown in many ways, your prayers, words of encouragement and support during our difficult days.
