He passed away peacefully on March 26, 2016 while resting at the Bonita View Hospice House.
His children and grandchildren had been with him for many of his last few days.
Ron's parents were Robert J. Branham and Adele Langford Branham. Unfortunately, they passed away while Ron was a small child. Although Ron was an orphan, he was brought up in that wonderful town of Winnsboro. Loved and cared for by many, he eventually was adopted by the Talbert family and lived with them during his teen years. He joined the Navy at 17 and that eventually brought him and his young family to San Diego in 1955.He retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 1967 while serving at the Navy Armory on Chavez Ravine, Los Angeles.
While he enjoyed a successful career in the Insurance business, he decided to start a new career as a Sales Rep working with the Navy Ship Stores and Exchanges. This brought him back to San Diego where he loved the life he had here in the early sixties. He settled in Bonita in 1974.
Although he loved San Diego and lived here for the remaining years of his long life, he always had Carolina in his mind. He visited his beloved home town of Winnsboro many times.
