Rosemary Groeschel passed away unexpectedly on January 3rd of 2019 at Grossmont Hospital following two surgeries. This unforeseen event proceeded a regular day that began with the normal daily routine that included her favorite walk around the many boats at the “J” Street Marina in Chula Vista and lunch with friends later at one of her favorite restaurants. She went to be with God surrounded by Family & Friends after the surgeries and now join her Husband, two Sisters, a Brother and all those who have gone on before. They are all together now and are in Gods care.
Rosemary was born on February 11th in 1929 to Reginald & Cecilia Daniels where she was the youngest of four children. The Daniels Family owned and operated several bakeries in Everett, Washington. Later the family moved a lot due to World War II and lived in the cities of Renton, Bremerton, and finally Langley, Washington.
Rosemary graduated high school and later was hired as a telephone operator on the Naval Base at Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island. Later she would meet Lieutenant George Groeschel and they would fall in love and get married in 1956. The Couple would move to Anaheim, California not too far from Disneyland where there was an opportunity for George to gain employment as an accountant in Los Angeles, CA.
In 1960 George & Rosemary had a son and relocated to George’s home town of San Diego and began to run a successful family business.
Sometime in the mid 1960’s Rosemary went back to work in Navy Civil Service as an Administrative Secretary to the Engineers that were developing the Harpoon anti-ship Missile. After 14 year she retired and both she and George began a career in the real estate rental business. This time type of business always has something happening, so although being retired from Civil Service she was never really retired ever.
Rosemary lived happily for 44 years in her home in Chula Vista and had many pets including 3 cats which kept here busy and happy for at least 18 of those years.
She traveled quite a bit and enjoyed her trips up to Washington as well as to the East Coast along with several trips to Europe. However, Rosemary did say that there is no place like being at home.
As her son I will say that she was generous of heart and always kind. She was the best Mom a Man could have and she touched everyone with love and kindness. Mom we love you dearly and we miss you.
Rosemary was predeceased by her Husband George, her sisters Vee and Jaynie, and Brother Wayne. Surviving relatives are; her son Jon, and nephews Buck Bolding, Randy Geary, and niece Cindy Clarke. Other close Family Members include; Colleene, Kristine, Emma, Russell, Rory, Scott, Travis, & Butch.
There will be a Memorial Service held on Saturday, February 16th at 10 AM at the Little Chapel at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA.
