Ruben Peñaranda Villagracia

Ruben Peñaranda Villagracia, age 94, of National City, California passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. Ruben was born on December 8, 1925, in Cavite City, Cavite, Philippines. He is the third of six kids of the late Diego Villagracia and Isabel Peñaranda.

In 1985, Ruben retired after 35 years working as a Ship Repair Facility Planner and Estimator for the US Naval Base in Olongapo City, Zambales. He was awarded a Special Immigrant Visa to the US for his exemplary performance and in 1987 migrated with his wife and three of his youngest boys.

Ruben is survived by his loving wife Conchita Manas for 65 years, along with nine of their kids and spouses: Edgardo and Helen May del Valle; Toribio, Jr. and Elma Alot; Ruben Jr. and Paulita Villagracia; William and Edna Rentutar; Ruel and Lynn Villagracia; Rogelio and Lynne Villagracia; Edwin Villagracia; Allan and Leila Villagracia; Dexter and Shayne Villagracia. Fourteen grandchildren: Mark Ryan and Karla; Andrei Mack; Kathleen Anne; Eddie and Ethelynn Joy; Mike and Louie Diane; Robbie and Cyril; Jay Glence and Angela Mae; Louis Benjamin and Mayline; Alan Jae, Alyssa, Earl Justin, Rommel, Matthew, and Eivan Jeffry. Six great-grandchildren: Cylee Bielle, Andrei Rafael (dec.), Andrei Sebastien, Leia Grace, Andrei Barachiel, Desiree Celine, and Caleb.

As a father, he tried and worked hard to give his children the best life he could offer. He will always be remembered as a very supportive, loving, and caring father. He always showed gentleness, humor, and unending love.

A graveside service for Ruben will be held on Monday, April 27, 2020, from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902.
