It is with great sadness the family of Sandie Hastings-Gallagher announces her passing after a strong 2 year fight against Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, on Saturday March 14th, 2020, at the age of 57. Sandie will be lovingly remembered by her husband John, and her two children, Breana and Daniel. Sandie will also be fondly remembered by her four grandchildren, Connor, Isaac, Bella and Emmy, by her sisters Cindy Anderson and Melodie (Scott) Webb and her father Barry Hastings. Sandie was predeceased by her mother Donna Hastings.
Sandie was born on March 26th, 1962 in Alhambra, CA and grew up in El Monte & Rosemead. She was educated in the El Monte and Rosemead area schools and attended Rosemead High School. Sandie worked various jobs throughout her young life and made so many lifelong friends along the way. A little secret about Sandie is, she wasn’t much for cooking, but she could bake a mean cake!
Sandie loved her two children first and foremost and treasured every moment with them. However, her favorite role was being a grandma. She lived for the days she could spend with them and made every moment count. She had a vivacious personality and made friends everywhere she went. I think it is safe to say that one of her favorite verses is from Ephesians 4:32 “and be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
Finally, the family asks that you join them in celebrating her life on April 3rd, 2020.
