April 28, 1932 – September 30, 2020
Loving Wife, Mom, Daughter, Sister, Nana and Tia
Sandy passed away peacefully on the morning of September 30th after battling Parkinson’s Disease and diabetes.
She was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas and moved to California at age 18. She made a life for herself in San Diego and then East County. Upon arriving in San Diego she worked at a bakery for a few years where she met her future husband Ernie. They married in 1952 and after the birth of their oldest child she began her life as a homemaker. She worked tirelessly to provide for her children and husband. Sandy and Ernie prided themselves on being homeowners in the home they built. She enjoyed singing Christian hymns, attending church, reading the Bible, was an avid reader and loved spending quality time with her kids, grandkids, and family friends. She was also a fan of watching professional bowling and of TV shows like the Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, Touched by an Angel, Wheel of Fortune, and Charles Stanley.
She is survived by son Anthony (wife Kim, granddaughter Cassidy, grandsons Tony, Micah & Corbin), daughter Elaine, son Vinnie, son Jason (wife Angie, granddaughter Lily and grandson Sam), great grandchildren Manny, Nikki, and Jaylin, as well as her sister Norene and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernie, son Ernest Marc, brother JD, and mother Josie.
She lived a Christ focused life, always lent a helping hand to those less fortunate and was at her happiest when surrounded by her kids and family.
