

With heavy hearts, we announce the untimely passing of Tonia Reneé Silva, who left us on June 29, 2025, at the age of 36. Tonia was born on September 28, 1988, in San Diego, California, where she lived her life with a vibrant spirit and an unwavering commitment to family, community, and personal growth.
Tonia is lovingly remembered by her fiancé Mike Navas, with whom she shared a beautiful relationship for six years and engaged for two. They cherished their family that included her beloved children: Braylon, Anthony, and Mariah. Tonia's life revolved around her children; they were her world and the driving force behind her hard work and dedication.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandfather, Ignacio Silva, whose memory she held dear throughout her life. Tonia is survived by her parents, Mark Silva, Jayson and Monica Kamoss, her brother Justin Kamoss, Uncle Mike Silva, Uncle Art Garcia Jr., her godchildren Aurelia, Eva ,Garth Jr., as well as her many other loving uncles, aunts and cousins. She also leaves behind her caring grandparents, Lupé Silva, Arthur Garcia Sr., and Betty Garcia. Tonia’s family and friends will forever treasure the joy and love she brought into their lives.
Tonia's educational journey was marked by her determination and ambition. She attended St. John of The Cross Catholic School from kinder to eighth grade and went on to graduate from Monte Vista High School. Tonia later pursued her dream of becoming a Cosmetologist attending California Hair Design Academy, where she excelled in her studies and developed a passion for her craft.
Throughout her professional life, Tonia was known for her hard work and dedication. She started her career at Coldstone Creamery, then moved on to Costco in Customer Service, and eventually worked at Barona Casino and Resort, where she was promoted to Floor/Shift Supervisor. Tonia's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she obtained her license as an Aesthetician and eventually purchased her own salon, where she continued to inspire and uplift others.
A passionate community member, Tonia was deeply committed to various causes. She volunteered regularly, striving to bring awareness to important social issues, particularly those affecting women. Her efforts in women’s empowerment reflected her belief in uplifting female workers and entrepreneurs. Tonia was known for her warmth and enthusiasm, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know her.
Beyond her professional and community endeavors, Tonia was a true "foodie" at heart. She loved exploring new restaurants and cuisines, always eager to share her culinary adventures with loved ones. Tonia's zest for life was infectious; she enjoyed fashion, dancing, traveling, being creative and enjoying unforgettable "staycation" memories with her children and fiancé.
Tonia's spirit was a beautiful blend of love, strength, and spirituality. She often expressed her philosophy of life: "I work to live, not live to work." Her unwavering faith and dedication to her loved ones were evident in everything she did. Tonia loved hard and lived hard, embracing every moment with joy and gratitude.
As we say goodbye to Tonia, we hold her memory in our hearts, cherishing her remarkable spirit and the love she gave to her family, friends, and community. She will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of love, compassion, and empowerment will continue to inspire us all.
