Vipero's story reflects a life lived with purpose, love, and dedication to family and community. Vipero, originally Rolando, came to the USA and adopted his new name upon joining the US Navy, embarking on nearly 50 years of adventure with his wife, his favorite person, Virginia, by his side. Vipero was a kind, generous, and authentic person who always prioritized his loved ones and sought to improve the lives of everyone he encountered. Compassionate and respectful, Vipero was a man of few words but conveyed his deep affection through his actions, whether by smiling or simply sitting in silence with those he cared for. Alongside Virginia, he raised three beautiful daughters and five grandchildren, extending his home and heart to many others who became like family. Though he loved his homeland, the Philippines, Vipero also built a life in San Diego, where he touched countless lives as a Navy cook, JobCorps counselor, and lifelong learner. He embraced life fully, often found hosting or helping at parties, sipping a cold beverage, cooking up delicious food, and dancing with joy. His fondness for karaoke was just another way he spread his happiness, filling the air with music, laughter, and good times! Though his presence will be deeply missed, the memories of his kindness and the joy he brought into the world will continue to live on in the hearts he touched.
