

Bill went to be with the Lord March 4, 2014. Born in San Diego and raised in Chula Vista, CA, he graduated from Chula Vista High School, earning baseball and basketball scholarships, and graduated from Cal Poly University, San Luis Obispo in 1963. He also earned a Master's Degree at Azusa Pacific College. His teaching career began at Chula Vista Elementary School District in 1963 where he retired as principal of Mueller Charter School in 2000. Bill loved his work and cared deeply about the students. His take-charge approach to life often hid his soft heart and his willingness to help those in need. His sense of humor kept family and friends laughing and was sometimes misunderstood with his straight-faced delivery.
He was very proud of his sons and grandsons and was always supportive of their activities and sports. He also enjoyed entertaining them with his creative stories. Bill was an avid outdoorsman. In1970 Bill, Jim Graham, and RD Wright sailed the Pacific coast of Baja CA in a homemade outrigger canoe. He was passionate about hunting, fishing and 4-wheeling adventures in Baja CA which always included family and friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, a loyal friend, a fierce patriot and proud to be an American. Bill will be missed by family and friends and will forever be in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda; sons Michael; Bill Jr.; and Shawn; grandsons Christopher; Matthew; Kyle; Colby; Chase; and Brent; and his beloved dog Buddy. He was preceded in death by his brother John Price.
A memorial service will be held at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita, CA at 2:00PM on April 5, 2014. Following the service a celebration of life gathering will be held at Dolphins Restaurant, 570 Marina Parkway, Chula Vista, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a military or veterans charity of your choice.
