My son Xavi was very happy, friendly, intelligent, energetic, full of life, and a funny young man. He was always followed and accompanied by his friends, since they enjoyed his jokes. He loved to sing and rap, he wrote some songs, and his friends liked to listen to him when he was singing. He had the personality of a leader. He was never scared of anything or anybody. He loved life and his freedom.
Xavi used to take part in many activities and enjoyed going out with me, his family, his girlfriend, and friends. Xavier and I used to play basketball, eat pizza and go boogie boarding at the beach. We loved to play pool, cards and go to the gym together. His father John bought him his first costume for Halloween, which was “Batman”. Xavi was very happy playing the “Batman” character. His charismatic personality attracted many followers and friends.
My son Xavi was raised in San Diego, but was bi-cultural and bilingual. His father spoke to him only in English and I spoke to him only in Spanish. He was able to fluently speak both languages by the age of 3. He was going to obtain his High School Diploma in two more months and planned on getting his driver’s license by next year. He then planned on joining the Navy. He had a son named after him, Xavier Corning Jr. He loved his family and son very much. He wanted to succeed in life and have a good future. I know that if Xavi would have gone, he would have accomplished all of his goals and dreams. We love you very much Xavi
Unfortunately, this tragic accident took his life away and left us with emptiness in our hearts.
We will always miss Xavi and he will be in our hearts for the rest of our lives. I know that all the memories and the funny things we did together are going to keep him alive in our minds forever.
Xavi’s body is gone, but his spirit and soul are in heaven and with all the ones who loved him.
